Space & Global Configuration

As administrator of your confluence instance you can find the global configurations for the EDM in the Confluence Administration. Go to EDM Configuration in the Easy Dropdown Menu section.


Dropdown Sets

The sets you define in the global configuration can be used in all spaces, the ones you define in the space configuration can only be used in the space you declared them in.

By pressing the Add entry button in the Predefined Sets or Status Sets tab, you can add a new set. If you press the Show Usage button a pop up window will open with a list of links to all places where this specific set was used.

When using the History button of a set, a dialog will open. There you can see the five most recent changes made to the set and also restore deleted set options with the Restore button.

With the Delete button you can delete a set.

When pressing the Edit button the Easy Dropdown Menu Set Editor dialog will open. Here you can create, change, delete the options for your set:

Configure Predefined Sets

  • To change the name of your dropdown set, enter the new name in the Set Name input field.

  • If you want to create a new option for your set, press the Add entry button and enter the new option value in the input field.

  • To change the value of an existing option, enter the new value in input field of the respective option.

  • With drag and drop you can rearrange the order of the text options to your liking.

  • If you want to see where a specific set is used in your instance you can press the Show Usage button.

  • By pressing the Delete button on the right hand side of an option, you can delete it from the dropdown set.

Configure Status Sets

  • To change the name of your dropdown set, enter the new name in the Set Name input field.

  • If you want to create a new option for your set, press the Add entry icon and select the value, color and style.

  • You can change the value, color and style for existing options by pressing the Edit icon and therefore opening the Modify Option dialog.

  • With drag and drop you can rearrange the order of the status options to your liking.

  • If you want to see where a specific set is used in your instance you can press the Show Usage button.

  • By pressing the Delete icon on the right hand side of an option, you can delete it from the dropdown set.

By pressing the Save button in the Set Editor you will save your changes to the set. To exit the Set Editor without saving the changes use the Close button.

If you change a value that is present on a page, it will also automatically change it on the page and even reindex it for the filtering.

Be aware that the options are mapped with unique id's. If you delete an option that is used on a page you can not simply add another option with the same value.


General Configuration

Page Reindexing

In the first one, the Page Reindexing Section, you can reindex all your pages. To do so, press the Reindex Pages button.

Set Restoration

In the Set Restoration Section, you can rebuild all used EDM sets and get them exported in a JSON file which can be imported in the Migration Section to restore any lost sets or options. To do so, press the Restore button.

Permissions

In the Permissions Section, you can declare on a global scale which groups are allowed to change the dropdowns on the page. Select the groups by choosing from the dropdown and pressing the Save button.

The configured EDM space permissions will be merged with the global EDM permissions for the respective space.

Users with edit-permissions on the current page can always manipulate the dropdown as they could also just go into the edit-mode and make the changes there.

Notifications

In the Notification Section you find the Disable notifications checkbox. As the name suggests, if checked, no Updated successfully notification will be shown when changing a dropdown value.
