Known Issues

Unpublished Changes info disappears when changing Dropdown Value

Description

A page with a draft shows the Unpublished Changes info at the top of the page in Confluence. Also having dropdowns on the page and changing the values in a dropdown, causes the Unpublished Changes info to disappear.

This might lead to user confusion when entering the edit mode and seeing that in the editor, the page differs from the published version. Or it could lead to publishing changes that weren’t meant to be published because the user wasn’t aware of them.

The issue mostly happens when updating a dropdown in a Page Property Report macro since the Unpublished Changes info isn’t visible there.

Example and Solution

Example

To reproduce the issue, create a page with some Easy Dropdown Menu macros and save it. Then enter the edit mode again, add for example some text and click the Close button to create a draft for the page. Now the Unpublished Changes info will be be shown at the top of the page.

When changing the dropdown value in view mode, the info will disappear. But when opening the editor, the page differs from the published version (the before added text is also shown).

Solution

There are two workarounds at the moment:

  • Always publish the changes

  • Change the dropdown value in the editor when a draft exists

Dropdowns aren’t allowing changes in Page Property Report Macro

Description

When using dropdowns in a Page Property Report macro that has two or more pages, then the dropdowns are locked. Therefore is it only possible to change the dropdown values on the original page.

Example and Solution

Example

To reproduce the issue, create two pages with a Page Property macro that has some Easy Dropdown Menu macros in it. Then add the same label to both pages, so we can find them later in the Page Property Report macro.

On a third page now add the Page Property Report Macro, choose the correct label and set the parameter Number of items to display to 1. When saving the page, the dropdowns will be locked in the report.

Solution

There is currently one workaround:

There is a parameter Number of items to display in the Page Property Report macro where you can select how many items should be shown on each page of results. Setting the number so high that all results are shown on one page will resolve the issue.
